 From comedy club appearances to films, to radio and television hosting to bestselling books, Laura Banks has done it all. She has toured the country as a stand up comic and improvisational player originally working with Whoopi Goldberg in the troupe Spontaneous Combustion in San Diego. Next came starring roles in three indie films for Roger Corman. Her latest film project in 2002, Manhattan Dating Project (Ultimate Productions) was written, produced and starred Laura Banks and toured in film festivals nationwide and cable TV. Other work includes hosting the TV talk show Inside Space for the SciFi Channel as well as hosting a TV infomercial for the famous Pierre Michael Salons, 5th Ave. at the Trump Tower, New York. Her radio career began writing and performing nationally syndicated comedy bits for Dick Clark’s United Stations Radio Networks. She was also the voice of the NBA (National Basketball Association).
She then penned the USA Today Bestseller Breaking the Rules, Last Ditch Tactics for Landing the Man of Your Dreams (Career Press) and Love Online (Career Press). Book appearances include: ABC World News, Rosie O’Donnell, Bill O’Reilly, and VH1. In 2006, Star Gal Radio hosted by Laura, was heard on CRN Digital Talk. Her next book is due out in June of 2008 with Atria, a division of Simon and Schuster entitled, Embracing Your Big Fat Ass which was co-authored with five time Emmy winner, Janette Barber. World rights were acquired with a six-figure preempt offer, beating out other publishing offers from Warner Books and Crown Publishers. The self help book is a humorous and empowering call to arms that points women toward self-acceptance. Her humorous astrology column, can be read at Tarot.com which reaches four million readers per month. Laura is also currently the co-owner of Targeted Nutritionals, LLC with her business partner, Dr. Alan Pressman working as a producer within the radio infomercial industry. She has written for Talkers Magazine, the trade publication to the radio industry and was interviewed by the Electronic Retailer Magazine. Laura is a past member of the Electronic Retailing Association and a current member of Screen Actors Guild.
